– Real Patient
Your New Orleans Brazilian Buttock Lift and Implant Specialist
The mid-nineties ushered in a new standard of beauty for the gluteus maximus with a shapely silhouette. This phenomenon seemed to start at the same time pop singer Selena rose to fame and has been carried on by Jennifer Lopez and the Kardashians, to name a few.
Genetics plays the biggest role in the size of your rear end, and there is no better way than surgery to create larger and rounder buttocks.
If you are interested in improving the profile and contours of your buttocks, Dr. Michele Cooper provides two options to achieve your desired results.
- Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)
- Butt implants
Dr. Cooper favors a shapely and proportionate augmentation consistent with the patient’s body type.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Buttock Augmentation With Fat Grafting or Implants?
If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your gluteus maximus and are a healthy, non-smoking adult, you are likely a good candidate for buttock
However, to be a potential patient for a BBL, you must have good skin tone and enough fat in other areas of your body to use when enhancing the volume of your butt to your desired size. Sometimes, a combination of both procedures are used.
Brazilian Butt Lift
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a popular procedure in New Orleans and requires a certain expertise to avoid complications. Dr. Cooper has the education, skill, and experience needed to perform this procedure and is known for delivering excellent results.
A combination of liposuction and fat grafting is used for this procedure. Liposuction removes adipose (fat) tissue from the hips, back, abdomen, or arms before transferring it to the buttocks.
Because it’s from you, there is no chance of allergic reaction or rejection.
How Is the Brazilian Butt Lift Performed?
Brazilian Butt Lift surgery is typically performed under conscious sedation or general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Dr. Cooper uses liposuction to remove excess fat from another area of your body, purifies it, and then injects it into the targeted area of the buttocks to create the desired size and shape.
Always performed under general anesthesia, butt implants (made from solid silicone) are perfect for women and men with little body fat who are looking for noticeable enhancement. These implants are customizable and hypoallergenic, and because they’re constructed of soft yet solid silicone, they will not leak or deflate.
How Is Butt Augmentation With Implants Performed?
General anesthesia will be administered before your surgery to make you comfortable. An incision is made down the center of your buttocks crease and sometimes arching just over the buttock where thong underwear would sit. Silicone implants are then placed within the gluteus maximus muscles on each side.
The exact method for your surgery will be discussed during your consultation and depend on your goals and Dr. Cooper’s recommendation.
Incisions deep inside the buttocks are closed with layers of self-dissolving sutures, and external incisions may be closed with sutures, skin adhesive, or surgical tape.
The First Step to a Better Butt
During your initial butt augmentation consultation at our Mandeville, Louisiana practice, you can talk with Dr. Cooper about the changes you hope to achieve. She will work with you to create a treatment plan that can best accomplish your body contouring goals, and this may include butt implants, BBL, or a combination of both.
Dr. Cooper likes to schedule an entire hour to meet each new patient. This allows for a friendly, unhurried atmosphere where she can provide you with all the information you need to make educated decisions about buttock augmentation.
Dr. Cooper will ask you about the precise changes you desire and discuss the location of incisions, size, and placement of implants, or the location of fat removal and injection sites. You will also be informed of the risks and benefits.
Two weeks before your surgery, you will return to our office to receive your preoperative and postoperative instructions and confirm the previously discussed procedure plans.
What Is Recovery From Buttocks Surgery?
A family member or friend will need to drive you home and provide assistance during the first 24 to 48 hours. You and your caregiver will be provided with Dr. Cooper’s cell phone number for any concerns or questions.
Pain is usually minimal with a BBL alone, and you may have some tenderness, but prescription pain medication is rarely needed. With gluteal implants, narcotic prescription is required. You will not be able to sit down or lay on your back for about four weeks. After that, you will be instructed to use a BBL pillow for sitting on.
Depending upon your procedure — implants or fat injection — you should expect to return to work approximately two weeks following your treatment, resuming normal activities after about two to four weeks.
When Will I See My Butt Lift and Augmentation Results?
All swelling should have subsided by six months, and you will be able to see your final outcome. By maintaining a stable weight, your results can last for many years.
